Terms of Use
The short version: these instructions are free to use and we try hard to keep them current, but they are guidance rather than a guarantee. Browsers change without telling us. Clearing your cache can sign you out of websites, so read the note below before you do it. Browser names and logos belong to their owners, not to us.

Agreement to these terms
Refresh My Cache is published by LinuxGnut Media at refreshmycache.com. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What this site is
Refresh My Cache explains how to force a page to reload and how to clear the cache in current web browsers. It is a free reference. There is nothing to buy, nothing to sign up for and no account to create.
The instructions come with no warranty
We write these steps against the current release of each browser and check them against the vendor’s own release notes. Even so, they are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Browser vendors move menus, rename buttons and ship new versions on their own schedule, and they do not consult us first. A page may be behind reality, and a step may not match what you see.
Every page shows which browser version it was written for. If yours is newer and the steps do not match, trust your browser over us — and if you tell us, we will fix the page.
Read this before you clear anything
You follow these instructions on your own device, and the consequences land there rather than here. Clearing browser data is normally harmless, but it is not nothing, and it is worth knowing what to expect:
- Clearing cookies and site data signs you out of websites, sometimes including ones you had stayed signed in to for years.
- Anything half-typed into a form on an open tab can be lost when you reload.
- Browser dialogs group these options together, and the checkboxes are easy to misread. Read the dialog before confirming — particularly anything offering to clear saved passwords, autofill or browsing history, which our instructions never ask you to do.
- Pages will load a little slower for a while afterwards, which is the cache doing its job again.
If you are unsure, try the keyboard shortcut on the front page first. A hard refresh affects only the page you are looking at, and it leaves your logins and settings alone.
Browser names and logos
Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, Samsung Internet and every other product named here are trademarks of their respective owners. We use those names and logos only to identify which browser a set of instructions is for — nominative use, nothing more.
This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Google, Mozilla, Apple, Microsoft, Opera, Brave Software, Vivaldi Technologies, Samsung or any other browser vendor. Do not contact them about anything you read here, and do not contact us for support with their products.

You are welcome to read the site, print a page, and link to it from anywhere without asking. Sending a colleague a link is exactly what it is for. What we ask you not to do is republish our pages wholesale — copying the instructions onto another site, translating them into another language and passing them off as your own, or bundling them into a product — without written permission. Short quotations with a link back are fine.
Acceptable use
Use the site as an ordinary visitor would. Please do not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or its administration area
- interfere with the site’s availability for other people, or attempt to overwhelm it with automated requests
- scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for others — polite crawling is fine, and our sitemap is at /wp-sitemap.xml
- introduce malicious code, or misrepresent the site’s contents to anyone else
We may restrict access if that becomes necessary to keep the site working for everyone else.
Links to other sites
We link to browser vendors’ release notes and support pages so you can verify anything we say at its source. Those sites are not ours. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or their accuracy, and a link is not an endorsement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LinuxGnut Media is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or from following the instructions on it — including lost data, lost work, lost profits, or the cost of putting something back the way it was. The site is provided free of charge and is used at your own risk.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised version.
